Steerflow.io (previously Port Lookout) is on a mission to assist vessel operators in saving time, eliminating frustration, and reducing costs associated with human error through their algorithm and cloud-based platform. The startup, founded by Srinee Bajaj in 2022, has already formed a data partnership with an organization to bootstrap this technology.

"At my previous workplace, I noticed that email communication played a crucial role in the business, requiring meticulous attention to ensure no details were overlooked. During my customer discovery process, I realized the extensive involvement of various stakeholders in the voyage process, the escalating volume of voyage-related emails as they progressed up the value chain, and the industry's heavy reliance on paper, email, and telephone communication. Witnessing the significant amount of time stakeholders spent on email exchanges to obtain and share information about different voyages, as well as the costly mistakes that occurred due to missed details, left me frustrated and motivated me to embark on this venture."

Aside from the economic benefits, Steerflow.io also aims to positively impact the culture and society of the maritime industry. By streamlining work processes and enhancing efficiency, their platform can alleviate burnout and enhance job satisfaction for vessel operators. This, in turn, can foster a more positive and productive work environment, benefiting the industry as a whole.

During the IDEAfuel accelerator, Srinee aims to enhance Steerflow.io’s value proposition, customer journey map, and go-to-market strategy. With the assistance of her dedicated IDEAfuel mentor and a non-dilutive funding of $15,000, her primary objective is to develop a minimum viable product (MVP) for market entry.

About IDEAfuel

Launched in 2022, IDEAfuel is an accelerator program designed specifically for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) who are building startups in the Gulf South region. Presented by Regions Foundation, this program offers founders across SaaS and CPG industries the opportunity to connect with mentors, learn from their cohort members, and receive non-dilutive funding to support their growth. The aim is to prepare them to build for scale and be ready to raise a seed round of investment capital.

This year, we proudly announced at New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) 2023 that four founders have been accepted into the program, doubling the cohort size compared to last year! Under the leadership of Rhenita Brade the selected companies, RIZE, KMboobies, Port Lookout, and bEHR Health Systems, were chosen from a highly competitive pool of applicants. Each company will be paired with a dedicated mentor throughout the 12-week program and granted $15,000.
