IDEAinstitute is The Idea Village’s entrepreneur education program. Free and open to the public, IDEAinstitute is comprised of the following key initiatives:

  • Entrepreneur Workshops: The Idea Village hosts a series of workshops on topics critical to startups. The Idea Village leverages our extensive network of professionals to share their expertise with New Orleans entrepreneurs.  Two hour sessions are conducted weekly at The Idea Village from July through March. Tell us what workshops you want to see this season!
  • Roundtable Discussions: The Idea Village hosts regular “Founders Roundtables,” forums for peer-to-peer mentorship. Each roundtable focuses on a specific issue relevant to the entrepreneurial experience and will be facilitated by seasoned entrepreneurs.
  • Keynote Speaker Series: The Idea Village engages local and national business thought leaders to deliver exclusive talks during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week. The 2012 season featured Walter Isaacson (CEO, Aspen Institute), Matt Flannery (co-founder, Kiva) , Michael Karnjanaprakorn (founder, Skillshare), David Kappos (Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property & Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office), and Mary Himinkool (Head of Global Entrepreneurship, Google).
