Keynote Speaker: Avram Glazer, Co-Chairman, Manchester United
Introductory remarks and program facilitation by Tulane President Scott Cowen
Avram Glazer is the Co-Chairman of Manchester United, the world’s most popular sports team. Manchester United was crowned champions of England for a record 19th time in 2011. During Glazer’s tenure, Manchester United has also been champions of Europe winning the UEFA Champions League and champions of the world as the FIFA Club World Cup winner. Avram Glazer and his family also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Formerly the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zapata Corporation - which was founded by former President George H. W. Bush - Avram Glazer was also the Chairman of Omega Protein Corp. A native of Rochester, New York, Glazer received his BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis in 1982 and earned his law degree from the Washington College of Law at American University in 1985. He also studied law at Beijing University and Fudan University in Shanghai. Avie Glazer and his wife Jill have two children.
