The Idea Village grows the New Orleans ecosystem by executing an annual Entrepreneur Season™ from July – March that engages a collaborative network of partners, including government, universities, corporations, non-profits, and individuals, to identify, support, and retain New Orleans start-up ventures by providing:

  2. Strategic Consulting
  3. Experiential Learning
  4. Thought Leadership

Season

With a small staff of only 10 employees, The Idea Village delivers award-winning programming by engaging top talent and strategic partners.The Entrepreneur Season, culminating each March with New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, captures the core cultural elements of the local environment therefore allowing for it to become an integral piece of the New Orleans fabric. Each Season enlists new people with new ideas allowing the movement to grow.

The results of the 2012 Entrepreneur Season highlight the incredible momentum of New Orleans’ entrepreneurial ecosystem that has been driven by The Idea Village over the last 12 years. From July 2011 – March 2012:
      • 1,622 entrepreneurs registered
      • 697 entrepreneurs received direct support
      • 60 entrepreneurs were selected into programs
      • $370,250 in seed capital allocated
      • 14,405 hours of strategic consulting provided by 282 professionals, MBAs & mentors
      • $2.2 million in total resources allocated
      • 75 innovative events executed
      • 2,000 people attended the 4th annual New Orleans Entrepreneur Week
