DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT JOB OPPORTUNITY:

The Idea Village is hiring a Development and Marketing Director who will organize and implement fundraising activities, and marketing communications activities in support of development and all Idea Village initiatives.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creation and execution of a 3 year capital campaign in cooperation with senior management and Board of Directors. 
  • Creation and execution of Idea Village marketing strategy
  • Maintaining and enhancing current development infrastructure and processes, including ResultsPlus software
  • Management of development and marketing staff, including development coordinator and marketing coordinator.
  • Planning and carrying out efforts to renew gifts from current donors;
  • Identifying new prospects; planning and implementing efforts to cultivate and strengthen relationships;
  • Supervision and/or writing of fundraising and acknowledgement letters;
  • Supervision and/or preparation of grant proposals;
  • Communicating with donors and potential donors;
  • Planning and organizing fundraising and donor recognition events;
  • Providing support to the Board and working with Board members to promote their active involvement in fundraising;
  • Creating new fundraising vehicles, such as a planned giving campaign, endowment fund, and naming opportunities;
  • Drafting reports to foundations and updates to the Board and Executive Committee;
  • Preparing a budget for Development needs as part of the annual budget process; overseeing budget implementation Engaging in all aspects of The Idea Village activities, including business development, education, networking, marketing, urban planning, real estate, university relationships and entrepreneurial activity.  
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports to the general community

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The Idea Village Director of Development must exhibit the following attributes:

  • Organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time efficiently
  • Report to Allen Bell, President of The Idea Village

Experience: Candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience in fundraising, marketing, development or a related field.  A four year college degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Salary: The Idea Village offers a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience.
